Description

The application of additively manufactured (AM) components in
critical energy, aerospace, and biomedical fields is currently limited
by a lack of fatigue life data. To streamline testing, this work presents
a new methodology that utilizes a unique resonant device developed
at KMAT FNSPE CTU. This approach enables the determination of a
complete S-N curve within a single working day. The capabilities of
the methodology are demonstrated through two AM material case
studies: L-PBF Inconel 718, focusing on the effects of heat treatment,
and L-PBF AlSi7Mg, evaluating the influence of component
thickness on mechanical and fatigue properties.
