Prague’s Vaclava Havla International Airport is situated about 16 km north-west of the centre of the city. Travel time between the centre and the airport terminal is 25-40 minutes by taxi. By public transport (for details incl. maps and fares please go to the https://www.dpp.cz/en/travelling/transport-to-airport )

Transport to the conference venue

The nearest underground station is Staroměstská (Metro line A). Leaving the vestibule of the station in direction of Náměstí Jana Palacha (Jan Palach Square, exit E1), you then turn right along the tram lines parallel to the river, after about 150 m the Faculty building is on the left. For more details see https://mapy.cz/s/fejababugu or https://maps.app.goo.gl/YJNUChc1vzQR8qTN6 .

Tram and bus connection: tram line No. 17 to Právnická fakulta (the nearest stop) or No. 18 and 2 to Staroměstská, bus line No. 207 to Právnická fakulta.

Transport by own car

It is not recommended to use your own car for getting to the centre; there are traffic jams and extreme difficulties to find a parking lot. Street level parking needs a special permit (only for residents and local business) or are expensive (around 60-70 CZK/hour/24 hours), underground parking usually has space, but is even more expensive (one underground parking is located under the Náměstí Jana Palacha, https://mapy.cz/s/fuvaderaca ).

Taxi

Prague taxi drivers are, unfortunately, notorious for trying to overcharge tourists. Be sure about the price per kilometer before entering any taxi. When possible, call for your taxi rather than hailing one on the street. Some more serious and safer taxi companies are, e.g., AAA (tel. 14014) or TickTack (tel.14222). Especially the cabs waiting in groups on Wenceslas Square, Old Town square or similar central locations are to be taken as predators and it is recommended to avoid them.
