Description

The quality of individual monitoring services depends on the characteristics of the type-tested dosimetry system, personnel competence, and the robustness of calibration procedures and quality assurance programmes. While type testing establishes system performance under varied conditions, routine performance testing ensures sustained accuracy and reliability under representative workplace radiological fields. A small-scale interlaboratory comparison on etched track neutron personal dosimetry was conducted at the dry radial channel of the VR-1 Training Reactor, Czech Technical University, Prague. The irradiation plan assessed dosimeter performance in a uranium fission neutron spectrum with respect to linearity, reproducibility, and angular response. Neutron spectrum determination, flux homogeneity, and reference dose evaluation were supported by detailed numerical modelling. Results were evaluated against the performance limits and the approval criteria specified in ISO 14146:2018.
