Description
In recent years, eye lens dosimetry has been the subject of numerous studies, many motivated by the changes implemented by the ICRP in Publication 108. Front-line professionals in interventional radiology, particularly radiologists, are exposed to high doses to the eye lens. This study evaluates the performance of a new dosimeter holder for the quantity Hp(3), manufactured via 3D printing using the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technique and containing LiF:Mg,Ti thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs). The linearity evaluation, ranging from 0.1 mGy to 1 Gy, was performed using a Cs-137 source as a reference. The dosimeter holders were positioned in two distinct scenarios on an ISO-recommended cylindrical PMMA phantom filled with water, and the Monte Carlo method, using the TOPAS code, was employed for comparison. The results showed that the holder maintained linearity within the tested range, presenting a satisfactory coefficient of determination (R2), and the simulations validated the proposed geometry.
